This is T.C. back on a Sunday arvo writing this blog. Shouldn’t I leave this til tomorrow? After all, it’s a Sunday. Hey, I just can’t wait because I’m super excited about giving you a book written by someone that I learnt a lot from that could change your life. And you’re going to get this book with his autograph on it. He is Tom Venuto and his book titled “The Body Fat Solution” is the America’s Best Seller and was featured in Wall Street Journal and Oprah magazine.
What happened was that I visited his blog 2 weeks ago and left a comment on one of his blog post. In that particular blog post, Tom was giving the books to the people who gave the best reasons why they should win this book. Well, I did not win the book but I left the following comment:
“Hi Tom
I do not need the book as I already had the hardcover book. I like to win it and give it to one of boot camp girls who need it the most.”
Then the next day, I got a personal email from Tom Venuto that he is happy to give this book The Body Fat Solution: 5 Principles for Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscles, Ending Emotional Eating, and Maintaining Your Perfect Weight to one of our Perth Women Boot Camp girls. And I can’t tell ya how happy and excited I am. Having following the work of Tom Venuto, I know this is definitely a valuable resource for anyone who struggled with weight loss.
What is This Book About?
I not only had finished reading this particular book I also had read and learnt a lot on how to help my clients better from reading his hot seller ebook titled “Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle” at least 4-5 years ago. Personally, I can’t say enough good things about his work and I know anyone who is struggling to lose weight and maintain their healthy body weight can benefit from reading his work.
This is unlike other fitness or nutrition books that give you the exercise and nutritional guides on how to lose weight. Instead, this book is about helping you finding the answers and developing the mindset on how you can better stick to your exercise and nutritional regime. In fact, he did not have as much details on exercise and nutrition in this book compared to his ebook. Personally, I agreed with him that the answer to weight loss and maintaining the perfect weight lies in the mindset. Without the right mindset, you’re probably not going anyway with your current fitness and nutritional program.

I do not need the book as I do not have that much fat to lose. I would like to win the book to give it to one of my dearest friends who has struggled with her weight all her life. She has recently taken positive steps to get fit and healthy but is finding it really hard to keep her head in the right space.
I have a lot of weight to lose. In the last 21 years my weight has steadly increased. I loose 10kg and put on 12kg. My weight comes off very slowly at about the 1/3 of everyone elses so to keep motivated when not achieving the results when being very disiplined is very deflating. My problem is continuity.I feel I have got half of it right, for the first time in years the last 12 months I have remained constant in my attendance to boot camp and can feel my fitness slowly improving. In fact probably the most consistent I have been to anything in my life (except to my family) To cut to the chase with out bringing out the violin any help I can get to stay strong and focused would be great.
I was lucky not to have loads of weight to loose when I decided to join TC’s boot camp – but after having two kids, I was hoping to regain my pre-pregnancy shape, some confidence and of course my energy levels to keep up with the kids . . . Why do I want to win this book !??! To me, it’s not just about exercise, it’s also about eating right which equates to a healthy lifestyle. So along with everything I’ve learnt and continue to learn from TC, with this book, I’m hoping to improve on my fitness, my eating habits as well as share the power of knowledge, with my friends (who still haven’t come around to the idea of getting up early to join TC !!!!) and my family – who need that Boot Camp kick !!!
I would love to be more educated in fat loss and how to maintain my perfect weight. The struggle for me is getting down those final couple of kilo’s, but once I do I want to learn how to stay at that weight and be confident and happy with what I have reached.
I am pretty focussed and manage to achieve my goals in other aspects of my life – but weight loss is a different story. In my younger days I was effortlessly skinny, so I never felt the need to develop regular exercise routines. A couple more years and a couple of kids. A kilo per year for the next 20 years and the fat crept slowly into my life. I have a balanced, healthy diet, but have other food/drink rituals/addictions that I need to manage. So the fact that the book deals with having the right mindset, very much resonates with me. I know I need to get more balance and control to reach my weight loss and overall life goals. Any direction or new strategy is welcome.
Thanks for this opportunity TC.
I’d like to win the book as I find that it’s easy to be inspired and develop good habits…but it’s also easy for those good habits to go by the wayside. When my good habits are replaced with the old familiar bad ones I need to remind myself why it’s important and how good it makes me feel to keep fit and eat well. I am definitely an emotional eater (and drinker) and this is why I find it hard to maintain a good diet. I know what should be done but acknowledging self sabotage behaviour isn’t easy and overcoming bad habits is hard.
I’d like to win the book for a very simple reason. I am getting married in 11 weeks and 4 days. I am the fattest i have ever been and today attended my first of my free week of boot camp. I am hooked and will be coming to boot camp till my wedding day (at least and then again after the honeymoon!)
I am pumped (and sore) but convinced (it is still hurting) that i have what it takes (get off my ass!) to get out of bed (easy i have a 3 yr old!) and motivate myself (is someone following me? alas it is only my butt!) to be one of the most beautiful (now forget everyone’s wedding pics) bride ever! (i know ‘ever’ is a long time but i need to convince myself of this!).
I also struggle as i love eating cheese (oh yes….come here and rest on my thighs!) and yummy stuff (yummy = fattening foods!) and need all the help i can get TC!!!
PS Anna G is my photographer at my wedding so she can show you the before and after shots of fat v’s beautiful!
I have struggled with my weight since having two kids. I have always been healthy and done a lot of competitive sport and just thought that doing what I always had done, would move the weight away. Nope. Things have changed. Having just received a week of incredibly bad news, where the week ended with me being a blubbering mess – I worked out that I am an emotional eater. Its not the exercise that is letting me down – its my mind set. Its using food as a comfort in times of grief and dispair and not being able to stop yourself, even though you know its not right as you munch on that chocolate bar. Realising you are an emotional eater is one thing, but having the guidance and more importantly the support and encouragement to make better choices when you are in that headspace is where I need the help. I need better strategies and coping mechanisims so that I can get back on track with a more positive state of mind towards food, and be a better role moldel to my kids. Thanks TC!
Hi There,
I would love to win this book as a mark on my path that I can achieve. I have ballooned, and like a yo-yo get to where I want to be (2005 size 10 55kgs) and then the negative speak will deflate me and there is wall around my middle like a huge neon pink tyre that says here you are again. Then I can see my emotions cascading over me and trying to find this imaginative unforeseeable concept called will power to stay off the sugar impulses, which generally means chocolate or alcohol and the vicious cycle begins again, feeling like I am in a deep dark hole banging on the sides and getting no where. I am so confused with what to eat/not to eat, what routines to do and not to do. I have even being to the doctors to check out my hormones and including the thyroid to see why I am not losing any weight – they are all clear. When I see that apparently you can lose 500g-1kg a week and I am spinning my wheels and losing nothing no matter what I try such as decreasing alcohol, food types ( currently removed red meat such as beef and lamb) from diet, exercising more, eating more salad. I think maybe this book could be the key to unlock the riddle, but I also need strategies on how to cope with the negative speak because when I deflate I try and be positive but I seem to spin in a tornado and the first thing I do is reach for the self medication aka chocolate and alcohol. I have decreased my consumption on both . I need help and i love reading, i believe this book could be the perfect combination to point in me in the right direction.
